  • Here are some crime prevention tips for you to follow:

Bring only the things you need to bring to the event. Don’t bring valuables at all if you don’t need to.

There’ll be great music at Orchestival so you won’t need iPods or MP3 players!

When you arrive at the event, make sure you remove all items from your car so that they are not on display. Leave the storage compartments in the car empty and open so that it is clear nothing is stored in there.

    Lock your car!

When you are making your way to the event or the campsite, make sure you:

    • Keep to the recognised routes
    • Keep any valuables you may have together in a secure bag or case
    • Keep your tickets out of view until you get to the event. No one will ask for your ticket until you get to the gates.

Don’t leave valuables or bags unattended. If you are camping, keep them as far away as possible from the entrance of the tent.

When you go to set up your tent it is a good idea to do so with friends or to make contact with those who are camped next to you.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously in the car parks, campsites, entertainment arena or anywhere else for that matter then report them to event staff.

Where possible, mark your property with your postcode with a UV pen.

Remember that there is increased safety and security in numbers so stick with your friends where possible.

Don’t carry large amounts of cash with you. There are cash machines on site! If you do carry cash then keep smaller amounts in secured pockets or bags.

Only bring one credit card with you and make sure you have the telephone number just in case you need to cancel it should it be lost or stolen.

If you do suffer a crime at Orchestival then it should be reported by calling the police on 101.

More crime prevention advice can be found at the Avon & Somerset Police website.

Have a great, safe, secure and trouble-free event.

  • If you intend to bring alcohol to Orchestival then you will only be allowed to bring a reasonable quantity for personal consumption into the site.

You can bring up to 16 cans or a box of wine or 3 litres of cider/lager/beer/wine in plastic bottles. Spirits are not allowed. You can only bring this with you on first arrival to the event only.

No glass is permitted to be brought onsite for safety reasons so all drink, including non alcoholic drinks and water, will have to be in plastic containers.

When consuming alcohol you should drink responsibly. Make sure you stay within your limits and keep a look out for your friends drinking responsibly too!

Drink and drugs can be a lethal cocktail. So drink responsibly and don’t do drugs! Make sure you are able to remember having a good time at Orchestival and recall where you went and what you did!

Make sure you have plenty of water to hand in hot weather. You will need to consume lots of water to stop yourself from the symptoms of dehydration.

And finally, don’t drink and drive! Anyone who has to drive should stay free of alcohol for 24hours before the journey home.

Visit the Drinkaware and Brake organisations for more information.

  • The dealing in or use of illegal substances is against the law and is in no way condoned by Orchestival.

These laws are in place at the Orchestival just as they are at any other location throughout the country.

Police and security will be onsite to carry out searches to prevent any illegal substances from being brought onto the site and prevent any use or dealing within the site.

Persons suspected of dealing or using illegal substances at Orchestival will be searched and may be ejected from the site. Not only that but you are also likely to be arrested and dealt with by the Police.

Using drugs is likely to cause frightening, disorientating and dangerous situations, especially in crowds. You may suffer adverse reactions and become ill, depressed or frightened. This is not the way to enjoy the event and you will miss out on the Orchestival experience and all it has to offer!

    Remember that drugs can kill!

If you need help or assistance then either visit our medical or welfare facilities onsite or ask one of our staff to guide you to them.
